Easter Treats #3...Kids in the Kitchen...

...this is the easiest of all Easter treats...the ubiquitous Easter Nests...and just look how great those guys look in their stripy little cases!!!

...We did mix it up a bit though...you know what we're like in the Sew Appetising House!!!
Instead of just making the usual, easiest melted chocolate and shredded wheat version...we decided upon doing our own taste test...

We did make the usual ones...using 200g melted milk chocolate and 4 blocks of shredded wheat...which made 9 nests in muffin cases...but we also tried these from the BBC website...
As you can see it was 'all hands on deck' making these...the two smallish people helping out while I took photos!! This is such a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen...

...as to the taste test...both went down a treat...neither was disliked, but the chocolate only ones were crunchier when eating...the butter and golden syrup in the others made them slightly more on the gooey side...It was these that I preferred!!!

There will be one more post this week, then I'm taking a break for the long Easter weekend...will update you after with any makes and bakes we've enjoyed...but one thing is for sure, I will be making more of these yummy Hot Cross Buns tomorrow...the smallish ones have already put in their order!!!
