Sprouting Seeds...

...and sowing more out in the veggie patch...

"The Plan" and the seeds...spot the deliberate mistake...
Alex and I have been out in the garden today...we actually managed to get out there in between the rain showers...so armed with "The Plan" we set about marking the rows, sowing 6 lots of seeds and watering them in...of course this is only one half of the veggie patch, and there are gaps on this side waiting for seedlings to get bigger and stronger before being planted out...but for now we have Spring Onions (already out there and growing), Rhubarb (coming along nicely thank you), rocket, two types of radish (globe and French Breakfast), Little Gem Lettuce, Rainbow Chard and Beetroot...

Meanwhile...in the mini greenhouse...the seeds we sowed a while ago...here...(well ok, only 11 days ago) are doing well...so far so good...it seems the runners harvested from our crops last year are doing better than ones from a packet!! The mange tout are doing great, as are the courgette...a different type this year, called Astia...Alex has two squash coming up and a cucumber...which is better than we managed last year, when neither germinated at all...We also have swede and fennel to sow next month (it's a wee bit early for them at the moment)...all in all it's looking good, and even if it looks tiny to you, remember, we have a hosepipe ban here and are just trying to do what we can in terms of from garden to table...
All we need now are a few more flowers to companion plant among the veggies and we will be set for this year's growing season...and then the sun shone on the veggie patch...

    1. The taste is unbelievably better...I always try to buy organic, and thought they tasted great...but from your own garden or allotment is better!! xx
