Sowing the seeds of love...

...So whilst the black beans were cooking for their 2 hour marathon...the smallish people found some time to get sowing the some of the seeds for our mini veg patch...

We sat and argued talked about what to grow first, what grew well last year, if there was anything new they (or I) wanted to try this year, and we have decided (after much deliberation) upon...
Mange tout, courgette, aubergine, tomatoes, cucumber (failed last year but trying again!), butternut squash, red onions and runner beans (harvested seeds from last year & from a packet - a challenge to see which are better!)
They were given a tray of cells each to plant up, and divided the seeds between them...they have also planted some of last year's lupin seeds to companion grow with the veg...and some chilli seeds given free at Wahaca...which will be grown on the kitchen window sill once germinated!
They were then watered and lovingly placed in our mini greenhouse on the patio to 'do their own thing' for a bit...
Of course, we have also got some seeds to sow straight in the ground...but more about them later!!!  For now we will watch and wait while nature does her stuff...
