The Best Brownies...

...that I have made in a while...and I make quite a few!!!

Last Thursday was Baking Day here at Sew Appetising HQ...we had friends coming the next day for coffee and cakes...so I had to get baking...


The first thing I made was another batch of these beautiful Nutty Nutella Nuggets...(they are a fave with myself and Hubby...great after dinner treat instead of a full-on pud)...they are very similar (I have discovered) to the Italian Baci di Dama biscuits served with coffee after a meal...


The second thing I baked was one of my Brownie Tray Bakes...the original recipe comes from Nigella's "Kitchen" book and also found here...on the US FoodNetwork site...but I 'tweak mine by adding ground almonds as can be found here...and they are called, in our house (by the Smallish People) Mum's Gooey Brownie Tray Bake...
 So what did I do differently this time?...not much really....added crushed and whole mini eggs leftover (yep, I did just say leftover) from Easter!!
 ...and I baked it for about 10 mins longer than normal (so about 30-35mins total)...I wasn't after that pudding'y' gooeyness this time, wanted it to be more 'Small Person-Friendly'...

I could just dive right in there...see that hint of goo through the crack on the surface...It's like a new land waiting to be discovered...
 ...and the result was fantastic...
 Just the right amount of crispy outside and plenty of still gooey (but not too much for the Small Ones!) middle...
Chocolate Brownie Tray Bake Heaven!! Of course I will still be making the sticky, gooey pudding ones too...

  2. Ooh they look really tasty. I've got a fab recipe for Brownies with cranberries in but putting in the Easter leftovers is genius.
