Comforting Cannelloni..(.Winter Warmers pt6)

Well, it's another grey and grim day outside, so what better to make for dinner than my Bolognese-Filled Cannelloni...Hubby and I are off out tonight for a belated Valentine's Dinner at Slice Restaurant in Swansea...{a gorgeous tiny place that only seats about 20 people max!! It may be small, but it is a slice of Welsh Heaven!!! (Will post foodie pics tomorrow)}...so I offered to cook Grandma and Pops, plus my two smallish people some of my cannelloni...as always, it is an amalgamation of several recipes, from several people and places that have fused to become the recipe below....

Serves: as many as you want it to, I do enough for 4 adults and 2 smallish people
Prep time: 20mins (if using frozen bolognese sauce) 40mins if starting from scratch
Cooking time: 30mins (if using frozen bolognese sauce) 2hrs 30mins if starting from scratch
Oven: Gas 6-7, 200c
Ingredients:
1 batch of My Bolognese Sauce (will leave enough to freeze for bolognese for 2 later)
¾ pint cheese sauce or bechamel sauce - we prefer cheese!
Cannelloni tubes - we use 3 each for small people and 4-5 each for larger people...
Grated cheese or parmesan to sprinkle over

Method:

  •  Make or defrost a batch of bolognese sauce
  • As we are in Wales I used lovely Lean Welsh Beef Mince....

  • ...and as you can tell, I started from scratch, so I made my sauce first thing this morning...and left it to sit in it's own juices to allow the flavours to develop...

  • Fill the cannelloni tubes...as you can see, this is for 2 large and 2 small people!!

  • I  like to add a bit more sauce over the top, before...

  • ...topping with the cheese or bechamel sauce.

  • Finally, top with the grated cheese or parmesan...

  •   ...and pop it in the oven for about 30 mins until nicely browned on top...

  • Serve with either a green salad or some garlic bread...or just on it's own, whichever way you chose, it's super delicious and with all the hidden veg good for the small people too!!!
  • Leftovers - if you have any are great reheated the next day for lunch!!
