Marbled Bundt...Afternoon Tea...part 2...


And now for the bundt...I used Nigella's wonderful Spruced-Up Vanilla Cake recipe as before...but then the urge to 'tweak' got the better of me!!! So I got on to Twitter, messaged Nigella asking if she thought the 'tweak' would work with melted chocolate, she said cocoa might be better, so cocoa it was...
...so I reduced the vanilla to 3 teaspoons instead of 4, then halved the mixture and to one half added 3-4 tablespoons of cocoa powder...

...then I alternated blobs of each mix and swirled through with a knife...
...it took a little less time than the last one, about 50mins...
...but still turned out beautifully (thanks in part to the cake release!!)
 ...and just look how the swirls worked out...
 ...it was still lovely and moist, even with the added cocoa...
...and I don't believe in teeny little delicate slices, so we all had a decent wedge...

...there's not much left, and the small people have it in their lunchboxes today...in fact they both prefer it to the more 'grown-up' plain vanilla one...so thanks for the wonderful  base recipe Nigella...we now have 2 favourite cakes...yours and my 'tweaked' version!!
