The bag part 2...

...an update on how my patch bag is coming along...

Right where had we left off? Oh yes, I was in the middle of the decorative stitching on the first flower (the Cath Kidston one)...well this is what it looks like now...

As I think I said before, I was only going to use either a simple straight stitch, or a simple chain stitch as embellishments on the petals...
...so that is exactly what I have done...

Then came the Suffolk Puff... interesting name! But simple to do, just take a circle of fabric, turn over a teeny tiny hem (press it don't sew)...the using a double thread tack all the way around, on the wrong side, pull together and you get a puff!!! There is a great tutorial right....here!
Then it was time for flower number 2 (the M is for Make one)...and here it is...
As with flower number 1 I used the same two decorative stitches...
Making sure the threads I used matched in with the fabric designs...
Another Suffolk Puff later, and we're all done for now...I never did get that thimble, so sore fingers right now...but that's ok as the next step means finally getting my sewing machine out of the cupboard!!

Overall I am really pleased with the results so far, but after reading up on what to do next, am already thinking of 'tweaking' and adapting to make a variation of the original...watch this space for updates...
